I believe polyester will wear down quicker than polyurethane, as the reason they use polyester in the first place is because it's softer, so it sands and polishes quicker, and doesn't reveal small imperfections as readily. Polyurethane is comparatively harder, so it won't wear down as fast. WebJun 29, 2024 · Satin comes and goes. I used 150 sandpaper to get most of it off and then 320 to slow down close to the stain. 600 is good to finish. I did actually remove the orange stain because the maple grain was too good to waste.
